After sparking worry in Delhi, the Yamuna River receded below the danger mark on August 16.

After rising as high as 205.39 metres on August 15, the water level came down to 205.14 metres a day later. The danger mark is 205.33 metres.

The latest swell in Yamuna's water levels has been caused by heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Yamuna may rise to the evacuation level of 206 metres only if hilly regions receive more heavy rainfall, as per officials.
