Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his Deputy Tejashwi met Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in the national capital on May 21, 2023.

The meeting coincided with a fresh tussle between Kejriwal and the Modi administration over a new ordinance brought in by the Union government to take allegedly take control of the posting and transfer of bureaucrats in the national capital.

Following the meeting, the AAP supremo said, "I appealed to Nitish that if entire Opposition, all non-BJP parties unite, then this ordinance can be defeated if it is introduced as a bill in the Rajya Sabha. If this bill is defeated in Rajya Sabha, then it would be a semi-final for 2024."

Subsequently, Nitish told reporters, "When an elected government is formed, then how can its authority be taken away? Supreme Court gave its judgment. Will the state government be stopped from doing its work? This is very surprising."
