Delhi cops allegedly urinated on meat vendors after beating them up, suspended

Three Delhi Police personnel have been suspended for allegedly beating up and urinating on two meat vendors, police said on 16 March 2023.

The accused cops were part of a mob of 7 persons which allegedly thrashed and robbed the meat vendors, and threatened to kill them.

The incident occurred in Delhi's Anand Vihar on 7 March, but a case was registered 4 days later, as per news agency PTI. The meat vendors claimed that their car had hit a scooter near Anand Vihar.

A police vehicle had arrived and the cops had demanded ₹15,000 from them, the meat vendors said. Subsequently, they were thrashed, and the group allegedly extorted ₹25,500 from them.
