Locals protested outside the Sultanpuri police station in Delhi following the death of a 20-year-old girl who was dragged by a car for several kilometres after it hit her scooty in the early hours of January 1.

According to new agency ANI, the protesters also blocked and vandalised Delhi deputy speaker Rakhi Birla's car as she was leaving the police station.

On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi party has alleged that Manoj Mittal, one of the accused in the death of a 20-year-old girl who was dragged by a car for several kilometres to be a member of the BJP.

Addressing the media, AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj accused Delhi's Lieutenant Governor and senior officials of Delhi Police of deliberately concealing this information and protecting the accused.

The AAP has demanded resignation of LG Vinay Saxena and other top police officials.
