Tripathi was reportedly out for a food delivery on his bike when the incident happened. He reportedly hit the divider after being knocked down by the cop's car and died on the spot.
Tripathi is survived by his wife Sucheta, a 10-year-old son, and his mother. He had lost his job as a hotel manager during the Covid pandemic and took up Zomato delivery agent's job to support his family. Reports also said that Tripathi had to withdraw his son from a private school due to financial hardships.
The accused policeman, who was also injured in the accident, has been arrested.
