Days after Delhi police claimed to have found explosives in an abandoned house, a similar scare occurred in neighbouring Gurugram.

Haryana police reportedly launched a search operation after information that explosives and ammunition were stored in a house in Gurugram's Sector 31. As the bomb and canine squads arrived at the spot, residents of neighbouring houses were reportedly asked to vacate their homes. At around 9:30 am on March 1, police received information that a hand grenade was found at the house in question, as per an Indian Express report.

On February 17, Delhi police had launched a massive operation after a bomb was found in Old Seemapuri. A bag with an improvised explosive device inside had been seized from an abandoned house. The house had reportedly been rented out to one person but 4 people had been living there.

Police had zeroed in on the house after reportedly intercepting suspicious phone calls, as part of a probe into the planting of a bomb at a flower market in Delhi's Ghazipur in January this year.
