Gurugram: police car 'driving on wrong side' hits vehicle; 6-month-old killed, 5 injured in crash

In a head-on collision between a police vehicle and a passenger car in Haryana's Gurugram, a six-month-old child died on 15 January 2023.

The police emergency vehicle was allegedly being driven on the wrong side of the road. Witnesses said that cops and the driver of the police vehicle fled after the accident.

The crash took place on Gurugram-Faridabad road around 11 am. Apart from the 6-month-old victim, at least 5 persons were injured.

Vishwajit Maan, the father of the deceased girl, said that the accident occurred due to the negligence of the ERV driver who was coming from the wrong direction. Mann works in the education department of the Delhi government.

An FIR has been registered against the ERV driver, police said.
