Himachal: 4 mountaineers go missing while scaling Mt Ali Ritna Tibba; prep on for rescue mission

In distressing news from Kullu in Himachal Pradesh, four mountaineers went missing while scaling Mt Ali Ritna Tibba. They have been missing since 7 September 2022.

The four climbers hail from West Bengal, and were identified as Abhijit Banik, Chinmoy Mondal, Dibash Das, and Binoy Das. Two other members of their group and a cook returned to Wachem near Malana and informed officials.

The rescue operation will see joint efforts of a team from Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports alongside a local group.

The rescue groups will have satellite phones for effective and prompt action.
