As Delhi grapples with severe flooding in several parts of the city, rains are likely to add to the woes of the people in the city as IMD predicts light showers on Friday. Additionally, the weather department has issued a yellow for July 14, Saturday.
Pertinently, the raging Yamuna has inundated nearby streets, impacted public and private infrastructure, hit road and rail traffic and caused immense hardships to people living in close proximity to the river.
Roads turned into rivers and water gushed into houses, medical facilities, crematoriums, temples and shelter homes in Delhi as the Yamuna river water level rose to record high, causing immense hardship for the people.
Meanwhile, 16 NDRF teams have been deployed in Delhi to tackle the floods caused by the overflowing Yamuna and the situation is expected to improve by Friday morning, a senior NDRF officer said on Thursday.
