Tension continues to prevail at the Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi with the students' union accusing RSS' student wing ABVP of attacking students and vandalising property on 20 February 2023.

The Left-led JNU Students' Union claimed that ABVP members had physically attacked students, and vandalised portraits of Periyar, Bhagat Singh, Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Karl Marx, Jyotiba and Savitribai Phule, and many others installed on the campus.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister also commented on the controversy. MK Stalin condemned the "cowardly attack" on "Tamil students by ABVP", and sought strict action by the university administration.
