An incident was reported on Sunday, where two-cable cars on a ropeway collided, leading to two people being killed and many being injured. The incident took place at Trikut hills close to Baba Baidyanath Temple in Jharkhand's Deoghar district.
The incident reported is not the first of its kind. The first major ropeway accident happened in Jan 2003 in Gujarat where seven people lost their lives and 20 were injured after the three cable cars crashed down. In the same year, another accident took place at West Bengal's Darjeeling where four tourists were killed, when two cable cars fell from the ropeway into a ravine.

Similarly, in July 2016 a 26-year-old fell from a cable car into the Mandakini river and lost his life. In September the same year, a 3-year old girl fell from a trolley and died.
In 2017, another major incident was reported in Gulmarg, where a tree fell on a cable car and took the lives of seven people.
