One of the victims who was stripped and paraded naked in Manipur has broke silence amid the national outrage over the video, as per Indian Express
One of the survivors, in her 20s, told Indian express over the phone that the police were there when the mob was attacking their village. They then rescued them and took them a little away on the road. The woman further alleged they were given to the mob by police.
Meanwhile, according to the police complaint filed on May 18, said that as their village in Kangpokpi district was attacked by a mob they fled to a forest for shelter. However, they were later rescued by police.
They were headed to the police station when a mob intercepted them and took them captive right on front of the cops. This happened just 2 km away from the police station.
Pertinently, tension mounted in the hills of Manipur after a May 4 video surfaced on July 19 showing two women from one of the warring communities being paraded naked by a group of men from the other side.
