Mumbai, known for its heavy rainfall and subsequent inundation, is now in the news for a different weather phenomenon - biting cold. Temperature in India's financial capital hit 13.2 degrees Celsius on January 10, as per reports.

The unusual cold wave spawned a host of memes on social media, led by Shah Rukh Khan's production house. Red Chillies Entertainment posted a photograph of SRK and film-maker Farah Khan wearing woollen clothes, with the caption 'Sweaters ki keemat tum kya jaano Delhi walon'.

Others on social media used references from the Game of Thrones series to Stanley Kubrick's The Shining. Dialogues by Sanjay Dutt and Rajinikanth also featured on many memes.

Low temperatures were experienced on the west coast city after unseasonal rains, as per reports. The 24-hour forecast on January 12 reportedly predicted a maximum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 15 for Mumbai.
