Indian Navy boat brought to help clean the Yamuna River in the national capital has been stuck in the sewage for a week now, NDTV reported.
The boat, Barasingha, aimed to monitor the clean-up has been stationed at the riverbank as it is trapped in the waste and unable to move.
Two navy officers are also seen guarding the vessel. Notably, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena had asked for the Navy boat in an attempt to dredge the waste accumulated in one of India's most polluted rivers, the report added.
The 22 km stretch from Wazirabad to Okha which is said to be the dirtiest and most toxic part in the river will be covered in the desilting.
