Breaking the glass ceiling, the son of a daily-wage labourer and the daughter of a vegetable seller in Odisha, and the son of a barbeque seller in Jammu & Kashmir have cleared NEET, the medical entrance examination.
Isrita Panda, whose father is a vegetable seller, secured an all-India rank of 11,895. Her father said that he supported his daughter's studies despite facing financial losses due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Santanu Dalai, whose father is a labourer, secured an all-India rank of 19,678. Santanu's father said that despite financial difficulties, he did not neglect his son's education.
Mehraj-ud-din Khan, who secured 591 points in the examination, said that his family was a pillar of support. Mehraj said that apart from studying, he used to help at his father's barbeque shop sometimes.
