In a shocking incident reported from Odisha, an MLA allegedly rammed his car into a crowd, injuring over 20 people, as per reports.
The incident reportedly occurred in Odisha's Khurda on March 12, when a suspended legislator of the Biju Janata Dal alleged sped his car into a procession of BJP workers. Videos purportedly of the startling incident were shared widely on social media. Following the incident, MLA Prashant Jagdev was reportedly beaten up, while his car was vandalised and set on fire.

Around 200 BJP workers were marching outside the office of Banpur Panchayat Samiti near Chilika Lake when the incident occurred, as per reports. MLA Jagdev was reportedly halted by police when he was driving towards the spot, but he ignored them and instead, crashed his SUV into the procession. The legislator was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the incident.
Jagdev was suspended from the BJD last year for allegedly beating up a Dalit BJP leader, as per reports.
