Prayagraj murder case: another police encounter, main accused shot dead

The man who first fired at Umesh Pal, a prime witness in the killing of BSP MLA Raju Pal in 2005, was killed in a police encounter in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj on Sunday.

According to media reports, Vijay Kumar alias Usman suffered grave injuries during the encounter and was sent to a hospital where he was declared dead.

On February 27, another accused in the Umesh Pal murder case was killed in a police encounter. Umesh Pal was shot dead outside his house on February 24.

The Uttar Pradesh Police Sunday announced a reward of Rs 2.5 lakh each for giving information about the five people, including gangster and former MP Atiq Ahmad's son Asad, allegedly involved in the killing of Umesh Pal
