Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was admitted to Delhi's Indraprastha Apollo Hospital on Tuesday evening following which a video of him drinking a glassful of water from a river has been doing the rounds on social media leading to speculations that the act caused him stomach infection.

In the video posted on Twitter, Mann could be seen scooping a glass of water from Kali Bein, a river in Sultanpur Lodhi, and gulping it down as he is being cheered on by bystanders and supporters.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of which Mann is a member has, however, dismissed the reports and said that the Punjab CM visited the hospital for a routine check-up.

The video is from last week when Mann was invited by Rajya Sabha MP Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal to take part in the 22nd anniversary of the cleaning up of the river.

Following the clean up, Mann drank water from the river which is subjected to sewage discharge from neighbouring dwellings.
