A YouTuber from Bangladesh is in trouble after allegedly taking photographs at the sanctum sanctorum of the Shree Jagannath temple in Odisha's Puri.

23-year-old Akash Chowdhury was arrested for allegedly violating the ban on use of gadgets at the Puri shrine. The photos went viral after the YouTuber posted them on Facebook, with concerns being raised about security at the 12th century temple.

Akash's phone and passport were confiscated, but he later secured bail as the offence was non-cognisable. The Puri temple administration had filed a complaint with police, and the YouTuber was summoned.

Akash had already left for Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh, but returned to Puri on 28 November 2022 after the police summons.
