The death toll rose to 4 in the terrorist attack on civilians in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri. The tally of casualties increased after one of the injured civilians died in the hospital.

The victims have been identified as Deepak Kumar, Satish Kumar and Pritam Lal and Shiv Pal.

At least 9 others who were injured in the incident are undergoing treatment. Doctors reportedly said that condition of some of the injured victims is "very critical". Some patients have also been airlifted to Jammu.

On 1 January 2023, terrorists barged into 3 houses in Dangri village and opened fire, according to the police.

The headman of Dangri village criticised the administration, calling the attack a major security lapse, the PTI reported. There was a threat perception and searches were conducted in some areas of the district, he said.
