Third cheetah death in 42 days at Kuno National Park

India's Kuno National Park saw its third cheetah death in just 42 days, as a wild cat brought from South Africa died on May 9, 2023.

The female cheetah, named Daksha, died after a violent interaction with a male during a mating attempt, the government said.

Earlier, Sasha, a cheetah brought from Namibia, died due to a kidney-related ailment on March 27.

Then Uday, a cheetah from South Africa, died on April 13.
