In a stunning demolition, a 30-year-old cooling tower in Gujarat's Surat was brought down on 21 March 2023.
The tower, made of reinforced concrete, was 85 m tall with a diameter of around 72 m.
In a controlled explosion involving 220 kg of explosives, the tower fell within 7 seconds.
The tower belonged to Gujarat State Electricity Corporation and was demolished due to technical and commercial reasons.
