Following reports of mysterious fires erupting spontaneously from underneath rocks at a Manipur village, government officials visited the spot.

The fires, reportedly burning spontaneously underneath rocks, were seen at banana farms in Kangchup Makhom village in Kangpokpi district. Locals demonstrated the phenomenon by placing dry leaves on the ground, and within seconds they starting burning.

At night, flames can reportedly be witnessed in yellow, blue, and red colour. The fires, raging since March 13, have caused huge damage to the banana plantations, as per the owners.
