Watch: police van set on fire, govt cars vandalised in Bihar's Buxar; cops accused of beating up farmer

The law-and-order situation worsened in Bihar's Buxar on 11 January 2023 after local residents allegedly vandalised government vehicles. A police van was even set on fire.

The violent protest broke out after police personnel were accused of entering a farmer's house and beating him up on the intervening night of 10 and 11 January.

Buxar is currently seeing a protest by some farmers over acquisition of their land for the Chausa power plant. The protestors want better rates for their land.
