Ever since Aam Aadmi Party's Bhagwant Mann won the recent Punjab elections to become Punjab's Chief Minister, parallels have been drawn with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Both were comedians before turning to a career in politics.
While Zelenskyy became Ukraine's President in 2019, Mann has been elected CM in 2022.
Here is another thing which is common between the two.
In the movie '22G Tussi Ghaint Ho', Mann played the role of a common milkman who campaigns against corrupt and rich politicians, and becomes the Chief Minister. Mann's character Boota Singh campaigns in moving buses, and at railway crossings, to show that votes can be sought without splurging money on huge rallies.
Mann's 2015 film had many references to Arvind Kejriwal, and Aam Aadmi Party's 'jhaadu' or broom symbol. When Mann's now-prophetic film came out, he was already a Lok Sabha member from Sangrur seat which he had won in 2014 on an AAP ticket.
