A political controversy has erupted in Maharashtra over a Bharatiya Janata Party leader's alleged comments regarding Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's wife.
A case was reportedly filed against Jiten Gajaria over a tweet in which he posted Rashmi Thackeray's photograph with the caption 'Marathi Rabri Devi'. Rabri is a former Chief Minister of Bihar and wife of Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. She became CM when her husband had to resign over corruption allegations in the high-profile fodder scam.

Gajaria's controversial tweet reportedly came after a Shiv Sena leader supported the idea of Rashmi being CM while Uddhav recovers from a surgery.
Reacting to the BJP leader's tweet, Mumbai mayor and Shiv Sena leader Kishori Pednekar called Gajaria a 'kangaroo' who jumps from one party to another. "Balasaheb Thackeray himself raised BJP party by holding its hand and making it big in politics. And today they are saying abusive words against his daughter-in-law," she said.
