Wife beheads husband, keeps severed head in family temple, say Tripura police

In a shocking case emerging from Tripura, a woman has been accused of beheading her husband. After murdering her 50-year-old husband, the woman allegedly kept the severed head at the family temple, as per reports quoting the police.

The incident occurred in Tripura's Khowai district. The 42-year-old woman was reportedly arrested from her house at the Indira Colony village.

While police are yet to confirm the motive behind the crime, the victim's elder son reportedly said that his mother had been facing psychological issues. She was reportedly being treated by a local occultist. The son reportedly claimed that his mother was vegetarian, but had eaten chicken on the night that the crime was committed.

The son then woke up to find his mother holding a blood-soaked machete. She hid herself in a room when the other members of the family raised an alarm. The victim has reportedly been identified as Rabindra Tanti.
