The incident occurred in Ramapalli village in Polasara forest range in Odisha's Ganjam district. People of Ramapalli, Beruabadi and Marudi villages were working in their farmland when they were attacked by the wild boars.
A woman named Bharati Swain succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at a Community Health Centre. The boars also destroyed crops on many acres of land.
Officials said that 30 forest personnel had subsequently been deployed to capture the wild boars.
