The Samajwadi Party and Congress have finally arrived at a consensus on seat-sharing in Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
According to reports, Samajwadi Party is likely to contest 62 out of the 80 seats while Congress will get 17 seats.
The two parties are going to hold a joint presser to give details of the pact.
Earlier today, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said the alliance has been confirmed and the details will be revealed soon.
"All is well that ends well. Yes, [there will be an alliance]. There is no conflict. Everything will be out and clear soon," said Yadav.
On asking how many seats the Samajwadi Party wants to contest in the Lok Sabha elections, Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav said, "As many as we can contest. The maximum."
