Manipur violence: bodies of 3 of 4 missing Meitei men found

The bodies of three of the four men who went missing in Manipur’s Bishnupur district were found on January 11.

The victims, who belonged to the Meitei community, are suspected to have been killed by militants.

Police quoted by Hindustan Times said that the victims included a father-son duo.

The three deceased have been identified as Thoudam Ibomcha (53), his son Thoudam Anand (27) and Oinam Romen (45). The missing person has been identified as Ahanthem Dara (55).

Police added that the search for the fourth missing person is ongoing.

The men had gone for collecting firewood near the hill ranges adjoining Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts before they went missing.

The police suspect that they might have been abducted by militants.
