Dr VK Paul, Member (Health) of NITI Aayog, has advised people to wear masks in crowded places as a surge in Covid-19 cases in China and other countries has raised concerns in India.

He was speaking after attending a meeting chaired by Health Minister Mansukh Mandviya.

'Use a mask if you are in a crowded space, indoors or outdoors. This is all the more important for people with comorbidities or are of higher age,' he said.

He added that there is no change in guidelines for international air travel.
