Welcoming the Allahabad High Court order on Gyanvapi mosque, BJP MP from Mathura Hema Malini on Thursday said, "The decision should come as soon as possible otherwise talks keep happening. It will be good for the country if the final decision comes soon."

Earlier in the day. the HC dismissed a petition challenging a district court order directing the ASI to conduct a survey to determine if the mosque located next to the Kashi Vishwanath temple is built upon a temple.

Pertinently, following the nod for a survey by HC, the Muslim side moved SC challenging the order on Thursday.

The Varanasi district court had on July 21 directed the ASI to conduct a "detailed scientific survey" -  including excavations, wherever necessary -- to determine if the Gyanvapi mosque is built upon a temple.
