The Supreme Court Tuesday listed the petition seeking a judicial inquiry into the bridge collapse in Gujarat’s Morbi for hearing on November 14.
The plea filed by a lawyer also sought directions to state governments to form committee for survey and risk assessment of old and risky monuments and bridges to ensure environmental viability and safety.
Meanwhile one more person succumbed to injuries on Tuesday morning at the Morbi district hospital, thereby taking the death toll in the bridge collapse incident to 135.
The British-era suspension bridge in Morbi, which had been closed since March for renovation, collapsed on Sunday night - just four days after it reopened to the public. At least 47 children, several women and elderly are among the dead, according to the officials.
