A video of a mother elephant raising its trunk to thank the forest officials for reuniting with her baby calf is winning hearts online. This video was shared by IAS officer Supriya Sahu on X on Saturday.
All of this began when the baby elephant slipped and fell into a canal in Pollachi in Coimbatore district in Tamil Nadu. The mother elephant tried to rescue the baby but the baby elephant was unable to come out due to strong water flow.
Supriya Sahu mentioned in her tweet, "a commendable team led by FD Ramasubraniam, DD B Teja, Pugalenthi FRO, Thilakar Forester, Saravanan Forest guard, Vellingiri Forest guard, Murali Forest watcher, Rasu Forest watcher, Balu APW, Nagaraj APW, Mahesh APW, and Chinnathan forest guard, came in for the calf's rescue."
The elephant mother's gesture to thank the officials by raising her trunk is going viral on the internet. Internet users hailed the efforts of the officials and said that it is truly great work.
