The emotions conveyed by Fayyaz Hashmi’s ‘Aaj Jaane Ki Zidd Na Karo’ are universal. They fall beyond the purview of language, and that’s exactly what this cover of the song is showing us.  

The Ghazal made famous by the legendary Farida Khanum, has been presented by singer Abhishruti Bezbaruah in Indian Sign Language for the hearing impaired. Reportedly this is the first time that the ghazal has been presented in such a manner.

In order to perform this special version of the Ghazal, she also underwent training for Indian Sign Language.  

Before this too Abhishruti has ventured in to unchartered paths with songs on the lives of transgender persons, along with working on films such as Highway, Viceroy’s House and The Second Best Exotic Marigold hotel.
