A Historic Triumph
Vijay Diwas commemorates the historic victory of India over Pakistan in the 1971 war, a conflict that redefined the geopolitical map of South Asia. India’s decisive military intervention, including training and support to the Mukti Bahini (Bangladeshi freedom fighters), culminated in the surrender of over 93,000 Pakistani soldiers—the largest surrender since World War II.
This victory safeguarded India's security and paved the way for Bangladesh's liberation, a moment that remains a source of immense pride for the nation.
