Day after Ajit Pawar defected and joined the Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government along with eight MLA, Sharad Pawar's NCP has taken action against party leaders who attended Ajit Pawar's swearing-in ceremony at Raj Bhawan on Sunday, as per reports.
As per India Today, Akola District President Vijay Deshmukh and Mumbai Division Working President Narendra Rane and state minister Shivajirao Garje have been expelled from the party for participating in Ajit Pawar's swearing-in.
The publication also said NCP's Disciple Committee has passed a resolution to disqualify nine NCP MLAs for "indulging in anti-party activities".
Party's working president Supriya Sule has also demanded the sacking of MPs Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare for going against the party lines, India Today reported, citing a letter written by Sule to NCP chief Sharad Pawar.
