NCP split: who is Hasan Mushrif, second Muslim minister in BJP-led Maharashtra govt

With NCP leader Hasan Mushrif jumping ship with Ajit Pawar to join the Eknath Shinde government, he has become the second Muslim to be inducted into the Maharashtra cabinet of which the BJP is also a part. 

Hasan Mushrif who hails from Kolhapur was facing searches by the Enforcement Directorate in Mumbai in connection with alleged irregularities in the functioning of a sugar factory and companies linked to his family.

In his pleas before the courts, Mushrif had said that the case against him was a motivated conspiracy.

The other Muslim minister in the Shinde's Cabinet is Abdul Sattar.
