The Punjab and Haryana High Court questioned the Haryana government over rape convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim being given repeated paroles without the court's permission. The court ordered the state government to ensure the surrender of Ram Rahim on March 10.

The self-styled godman was granted 50-day parole in January, his seventh parole in almost 10 months and ninth in the last four years.

The court was hearing a petition filed by the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbhandhak Committee.

Ram Rahim, the head of Dera Saccha, is currently serving a 20-year jail term over the rape of two women disciples.
