A Bharatiya Janata Party leader has predicted that the Indian tricolour would soon be hoisted in parts of Jammu & Kashmir occupied by Pakistan and China.
Ravinder Raina, who is the chief of BJP's Jammu & Kashmir unit, said, "Some parts of Jammu and Kashmir are still under the illegal occupation of Pakistan and China, and the day is not far when we will hoist the tricolour there as well."
Raina made the comments on 26 October 2022 at BJP's celebration of Accession Day - an occasion to mark the signing of the Instrument of Accession by Maharaja Hari Singh in 1947. The move by the ruler of the princely state of Jammu & Kashmir made the territory an integral part of India, BJP said.

The party celebrates the day as 'Vijay Divas'. Celebrations were held in many parts of Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar. The festivities included bursting of fireworks, hoisting of the national flag, and tributes to Hari Singh.
