Following Union minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar's attack on Congress, claiming that his father, K Subrahmanyam, was removed as Secretary, Defence Production by Indira Gandhi, Trinamool Congress leader Jawhar Sircar hit back. Sircar tweeted that Jaishankar's father had said "dharma was killed in Gujarat" in reference to the 2002 riots. The TMC MP added that Subrahmanyam had said, "Those who failed to protect innocent citizens are guilty of adharma. Rama… would have used his bow against the ‘Asura’ rulers of Gujarat.”Sircar said Jaishankar as a son should be ashamed for "serving Asura".The TMC leader also said that Jaishankar "served" the Gandhis "most loyally" and taking the "best of postings" under them, but has discovered his angst against them now.
