An Indian army soldier was shot dead by bike-borne criminals in broad daylight in Bihar’s Patna on Thursday. The soldier was home on leave and was on his way to Patliputra Station in the west end of the city when the incident took place. The victim was posted in Arunachal Pradesh.
According to the reports, the soldier was accompanied by his brother when bike-borne attackers overtook his bike on the pretext of asking for an address. The soldier was then shot in the head. He died on the spot. Later, the men tried to shoot the soldier's brother but he managed to escape.

The police have initiated a probe into the incident and are examining the CCTV footage. The cause of shooting is yet to be confirmed.
