Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an interview with ANI, said that Ram Mandir inauguration was not a political event for him, but a spiritual moment.

PM Modi said that he took the Ram Mandir inauguration very seriously. "It was a struggle of 500 years, it was the faith of 140 crore people and the country's poor gave money for the Ram Mandir."

Prime Minister also slammed Congress and questioned their decision to not attend the  ‘pran pratishtha’ or the consecration ceremony of the temple in Ayodhya.

PM further said that Congress makes fun of his clothes, "Now if I go to the North East, if people there ask me to wear their clothes, I wear them. Making fun of that too. If I go to Tamil Nadu, wear a lungi, you feel, look, he is doing this, he is doing that. I am surprised, there is so much hatred."
