Yet another momentous announcement is expected during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ongoing trip to the United States of America.

The Joe Biden government is likely to ease visa rules and make it easier for Indians to live and work in the US, news agency Reuters reported on June 22.

The US State Department is expected to announce a pilot project in which a small number of Indians and other foreigners could renew their H-1B visas without having to travel outside the US. The pilot project could be expanded in coming years, the report claimed, citing sources.

Indians made up 73% of the 4.4 lakh H-1B workers in the USA in 2022.
