Arvind Kejriwal, the former Delhi Chief Minister, has firmly stated that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will contest the upcoming 2025 Delhi elections independently, dismissing rumors of any alliance with the Congress.
In a tweet on social media platform X, Kejriwal clarified, "Aam Aadmi Party will be fighting this election on its own strength in Delhi. There is no possibility of any alliance with Congress."
The clarification followed reports from news agency ANI, which quoted unnamed sources claiming that AAP and Congress were in advanced talks for a pre-poll alliance in Delhi. The report suggested that Congress would contest 15 seats, with the remaining seats divided among AAP and other members of the INDIA alliance.
In other election-related news, AAP released its second list of 20 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, revealing significant changes. The list included the replacement of 18 sitting MLAs. Manish Sisodia, the former Deputy Chief Minister, will now contest from Jangpura instead of Patparganj, where educator Avadh Ojha, a new AAP member, will run for the party.
