Amid major drama and chaos at a session of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), an Aam Aadmi Party councillor accused BJP members of attacking and injuring him.
The disruption led to adjournment of the session without election to Delhi Mayor and Deputy Mayor posts taking place.
Praveen Kumar said, "Today we saw illegal actions and thuggery of the BJP. When I told the Secretary that this (aldermen taking oath first) is against the rules, all BJP councillors and aldermen who were standing there for oath, threw the swearing-in memento at me."
"It could have injured my head. I raised my hand in defence, and glass shards pierced my skin. I suffered many cuts," he added.
