A race to form an Opposition front for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections seems to be heating up.

On 31 August 2022, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao visited Bihar, which recently saw CM Nitish Kumar dump BJP, and realign his JD(U) with the RJD and Congress.

At a press conference with Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, KCR called for a "BJP-mukt Bharat". He accused the BJP of whipping up communal tensions for political gains, while the economy suffers.

KCR reportedly avoided questions regarding Congress' role in a united Opposition front.

The list of Opposition leaders hoping to be the Opposition's PM candidate seems to be growing longer. Apart from KCR, Nitish Kumar, Mamata Banerjee, Sharad Pawar, and Rahul Gandhi are among those likely to push for the top job.
