Clashes during Income Tax raid in Tamil Nadu at places allegedly linked to DMK minister

Violence reportedly occurred in Karur, Tamil Nadu on May 26, 2023, as the Income Tax Department launched searches at places linked to state minister V Senthil Balaji.

When tax sleuths came to search a place linked to the minister's brother, some people allegedly damaged a car being used by the officials.

Raids were also held in Coimbatore, with the minister's relatives and some contractors being under the lens, as per news agency PTI.

Balaji is a DMK leader who holds the electricity, prohibition and excise portfolios.
