On the third and final day of the debate on the no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi government, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman spoke in the Lok Sabha.

She countered DMK MP Kanimozhi's Draupadi jibe over the Manipur situation by invoking the incident involving late Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa.

Sitharaman said that in 1989, when Jayalalithaa was the Leader of Opposition, DMK MLAs had pulled her saree inside the Assembly.
