'Don't say Modi ji directed...': on Oscar wins for 'Naatu Naatu', 'Elephant Whisperers', Congress' jibe

A day after 'RRR' and 'The Elephant Whisperers' created history at the 2023 Oscars, members of the Rajya Sabha congratulated the teams of the two movies.

When the House convened on 14 March 2023, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar mentioned the victories of 'Naatu Naatu' as Best Original Song, and 'The Elephant Whisperers' as Best Documentary Short Film.

Dhankar called it a "moment of glory". Leader of the House Piyush Goyal said that it was a "great mark of recognition for India's women".

Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge said that it was a matter of great pride before joking that the government should not claim credit for the achievement.
